Kahkah

Kahkah (Li Xue) graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree and studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 2013 to 2020, earning a master's degree. Kahkah is a visual artist who works with mixed media. She makes paper more fragile by burning holes into it with a soldering iron, with the size of the holes determined by the hand-drawn deformed gridlines she creates. Her work focuses on blending the destructive and distorted dynamic sense of circular line weaving, deconstructing form, and exploring the plasticity of paper and the concept of fragile strength that paper embodies.
