Wang Dawei

Wang Dawei (b. 1984, Shanghai) is a Chinese painter whose practice explores the intersection of everyday banality and poetic transformation. Since his first solo exhibition at FQ Projects in Shanghai in 2011, Wang has maintained a consistent presence in the contemporary art landscape. His work has been featured in solo presentations at venues including FQ Projects (2011, 2013, 2014, 2017), Keyi Gallery in Beijing (2021), and most recently at Shin Gallery in New York with "Banal Dreams and Poetic Realities" (2023).

Wang's work has been included in group exhibitions at notable institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai (2009), and galleries in New York including Fou Gallery and Upstream Gallery (2020, 2023), as well as Touchstone Gallery in Washington DC (2020). His international profile has been further established through participation in major art fairs, including Art021 Shanghai (2015), Art Stage Singapore (2013), SH Contemporary International Art Fair (2009, 2012, 2014), and the Los Angeles Art Show (2011).
